ALISBY WEDDING FILMS · FRANCE
Wedding Videographer France
Discreet digital and genuine Super 8 wedding films across France — from Paris and the Loire Valley to Provence, Saint-Tropez and the Côte d’Azur.
THE APPROACH
France gives you very different kinds of wedding without leaving one country
A wedding in France might begin in a Paris apartment, take over a château for a weekend or bring guests together above the Mediterranean. The setting already gives the day character, so the film should respond to the people, place and atmosphere rather than forcing it into a standard destination-wedding formula.
Alisby works in an observational way: careful planning before the wedding, a low-profile presence on the day and an edit built around the people, voices and atmosphere that were actually there.
The aim is not to manufacture moments for camera. It is to notice the ones worth keeping.
FILMING FRANCE
Paris, Provence and the Riviera each need a different rhythm.
The character of the day changes with the setting, so the filming approach needs to change with it.
Paris
Private apartments, grand hotels, historic salons and city streets create a wedding that can feel formal one moment and completely spontaneous the next. The camera needs to move quickly without turning Paris into a location shoot with a wedding attached.
Provence & the Loire
Châteaux, vineyards, courtyards and long outdoor dinners often make the wedding feel more like a weekend than a single event. Those celebrations benefit from coverage that has time to observe the place without letting the venue overwhelm the people.
French Riviera
Saint-Tropez, Cap Ferrat, Cannes and the wider Côte d’Azur bring sea, gardens, villas and late-evening light into the same celebration. The surroundings are already doing plenty; the film does not need to exaggerate them.
FROM THE ARCHIVE
Selected Stories
A broader selection of Alisby wedding films — different settings, different celebrations and the same low-profile approach.
FRANCE AS A DESTINATION
Close enough to be straightforward. Different enough to feel like a destination.
France is one of the simplest European destinations to cover from the UK. Paris is directly connected by rail, while Nice, Marseille, Bordeaux and other regional airports make Provence, the Riviera and western France straightforward to reach without turning the filming into a logistical exercise.
For larger château or Riviera celebrations, arriving in good time allows the venue, access and schedule to be understood before the wedding begins. The practical side should be sorted before guests arrive, not become something the couple is thinking about on the day.
DOMAINE DE LAMANON
A Provence venue Alisby knows properly
Alisby films regularly at Domaine de Lamanon, so the practical side of the venue is already familiar — how the property flows, how the light changes and how a celebration moves from the ceremony into dinner and the evening.
Knowing the venue means less time working out where things happen and more attention on the wedding itself. The water, mature trees and Provençal stone already give the film a strong sense of place without needing to manufacture one.
Domaine de Lamanon also suits celebrations that extend beyond a single afternoon. Where the wedding includes welcome drinks, the main day and a following-day gathering, coverage can be shaped around the wider weekend rather than treating each part as an isolated event.
VENUES & SETTINGS
Some of France’s strongest wedding settings
France has an extraordinary range of high-end wedding venues, from Parisian estates to Provençal châteaux and Riviera villas. These are the sort of places where the setting adds something to the film without needing to dominate it.
Château de La Messardière
Above Saint-Tropez, La Messardière combines a château setting, extensive gardens and Mediterranean views with guest accommodation on site. It suits multi-day destination celebrations where the wedding, dinner and following morning can all feel part of the same story.
Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild
At Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Villa Ephrussi brings Renaissance-inspired architecture, nine gardens and wide views over the Riviera into one place. It has enormous visual presence already, which means the strongest film can stay restrained and let the wedding remain the subject.
Château de Villette
Within reach of Paris, Château de Villette can host large celebrations while also accommodating guests on the estate. Formal gardens, château interiors and separate reception spaces make it particularly suited to weddings that take over the property rather than simply hire a room for the evening.
HOW ALISBY WORKS
Present for the moments. Never running the wedding.
Timings, access and the practical details are agreed before the day. During the wedding, filming stays calm and observational. Professional sound is placed discreetly for the moments where voices matter; compact cameras keep the footprint small.
Afterwards, the footage is edited in-house around pacing, sound, relationships and the small details that give the celebration its personality.
Quiet confidence
01 — Planning with the venue, planner and photographer where useful.
02 — Discreet cameras and professional sound.
03 — Digital films and genuine Super 8 where it suits the commission.
04 — Coverage scaled to the wedding rather than a default large crew.
05 — France, UK and destination commissions.
EXPERIENCE WITHOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Useful experience is the kind you barely notice on the day
Since 2009
Alisby has worked professionally for well over a decade, from intimate celebrations to large events and destination commissions.
Discretion when required
Alisby has experience working where additional privacy or NDA arrangements are required. It is handled quietly when relevant rather than treated as a separate style of coverage.
Small when possible
Many weddings do not need a large crew. Additional filmmakers, photography or specialist coverage can be added when the scale of the celebration genuinely calls for it.
GENUINE SUPER 8
Analogue because it behaves differently — not because a filter says so
Alisby shoots real Super 8 motion-picture film. It can be woven into a digital wedding film or used for a separate short piece.
The attraction is not fake nostalgia. Super 8 reacts differently to movement, light and exposure. Grain, softness and the occasional imperfection give certain moments a physical quality that clean digital footage cannot reproduce.
For couples who want both, digital coverage preserves the voices and fuller story while Super 8 contributes its own texture.
ON THE DAY
Low-profile coverage, properly coordinated
A wedding already has enough moving parts. Filming should not add another one. Timings, access and sound are planned beforehand so the cameras can stay out of the way when the day begins.
Alisby works alongside the photographer, planner and venue team where useful. When something needs coordinating, it happens quietly in the background rather than becoming part of the wedding.
PLANNING A WEDDING FILM IN FRANCE
The practical details that make the creative work possible
France is large — the schedule still matters
Paris, Provence, Bordeaux and the Riviera are very different working environments. If preparations, ceremony and reception are spread between locations, realistic travel and access are built into the plan rather than discovered on the wedding day.
The bits you’ll want to hear again
Vows, speeches, laughter and the odd comment nobody realised had been picked up can become some of the best parts of the film. The soundtrack comes from the wedding itself, not just the music added afterwards.
Châteaux, hotels & local teams
Historic houses, five-star hotels, private estates and Riviera venues can each have their own rules around access, lighting, drones and supplier movement. Those details are handled with the planner or venue team before they become part of the wedding day.
THE COMMISSION
Simple before the wedding. Invisible during it.
01 · Tell us the plan
Send the date, venue or locations and enough detail to understand the celebration.
02 · Talk it through
If it looks like a good fit, the coverage and any Super 8 or multi-day requirements are agreed clearly.
03 · Film the wedding
The day is observed rather than directed, with coordination happening quietly in the background.
04 · Build the film
The edit is shaped around what happened, with attention to voices, timing, music and the personalities in the room.
COLLECTIONS
Coverage shaped around the wedding
Alisby offers digital wedding films, genuine Super 8 and combinations of the two, with additional coverage available where the scale or schedule of the celebration calls for it.
The current collections set out the available options and investment without turning the wedding into a shopping list of camera hours.
If the work feels right for what you are planning, view the current collections or get in touch.
BESPOKE WHEN NEEDED
Not every wedding fits the same shape
Multi-day celebrations, destination travel, additional filmmakers and analogue coverage can be built around the wedding rather than squeezed into a fixed list of hours and extras.
PARIS, PROVENCE & THE RIVIERA
Beautiful places work best when the film does not try to compete with them
Paris & the Île-de-France
For city weddings, the strongest films usually let Paris appear in passing rather than forcing the couple through a checklist of landmarks. Hotels, private salons, gardens and nearby estates can all give the day a sense of place without turning it into a fashion shoot.
Provence & Saint-Tropez
Outdoor dinners, long evenings, vineyards, gardens and Mediterranean light create a very different pace from Paris. These weddings often suit broader weekend coverage because the welcome dinner and following day can be as much a part of the experience as the ceremony itself.
